It brings confusion to decide as to which type of paver will suit best to a particular purpose. Most likely, they are just using this famous adage to give hopeful clients but it carries an empty promise in the end.

There are sealants that definitely perform better in one form of paving than another, and there are a worrying number of mixtures that will just despoil your paving job. Regardless of how the customers are going to feel after each disappointments caused by using the wrong paving sealant, the manufacturers will not be concerned about remarks from unsatisfied clients.

Attempting to appropriately categorize a huge number of sealants will turn into a long run of chemical checks and analysis. There are polyurethanes (PU), acrylics, part epoxy resins, fluoropolymers, silanes, siloxanes, waxes and umpteen.  Identifying the product's chemical component will determine their prudence for a particular paving job. For example, polyurethanes (PU) are best used for concrete so it is wrong to say that it will suit for all surfaces.

A pavement can only have a dramatic effect with the use of effective sealant. The result may be long lasting and irrevocable. That is the reason why when starting to apply and work for a wider and larger area; it is advised that the paving sealant must have to be first tried in a discreet area or on surplus paving.

Analyzing up things and looking beyond the chemistry implicated in each paving sealant, all of them can be divided into two categories only, the coatings or impregnators.

Coatings are the types of paving sealants that just sit atop of the stone or brick. It acts as a barrier between the stone and the real world. This kind of coatings is generally removable. It can be easily stripped off by using a product comparable to a paint remover. There are some specialist sealants that are not removable on other flooring surfaces, but, in general, these are not advised to be used in stone paving.

Impregnators, on the other hand, are sealants that are known to penetrate the flooring or stone. It will penetrate itself into individual grains of a sedimentary stone and sticks in the surface of mineral particles in other rock and flooring types

Some may not adhere to the idea of just simply applying the sealant and then done! Others  may prefer to enhance the color first by a color enhancer before applying a sealant. As it applies, color enhancers will also serve as the sealant.  For more lasting effect, it is advice that a recoating should be done to the flooring.

Choosing right paving sealant is not that hard. For commercial projects, sealants that are slip resistant, durable, non stick to chewing gums, easy to be applied and cost-wise are recommended. For residential contractors, the dependability, cost and easiness of application will be the supreme consideration. The main concern is to give a sensible quality sealant for their customers with minimum argument. It poses no danger and hassles, too.
